MAIRI COLLINS JEWELLERY
DEGREE SHOW '13 @ GLASGOW SCHOOL OF ART
Inspired by microbiology, protozoa and diatoms, Mairi Collins' Degree work includes sculptural, lacelike pieces in sterling silver and inclusions of patinated metal.
These pieces feature a special patination technique, colouring the silver a delicate range of blue-greens. A huge variety of forms and metals, this body of work secured the Guild of Hammermen Prize 2013 and a lot of interest -
"I particularly enjoyed presenting the collection to a lively class of primary 7s - I could really relate to their curiosity about my metals in disguise"
The extant pieces o this collection are available for sale and exhibition - find out more here.
